The Pacifier?

my Daughter who is a week a way from being 1 years old. I am worried that I should get rid of the Pacifier. The only time my daughter uses it, is when she wants to sleep. I have tried to put her to sleep without it, but she just cries (for Hours on end) and as soon as its in her mouth she goes straight to Dead Weight. I'm concerned for her teeth. What should I do I do not want her to be a Five year old with a pasifier?
