What kind of guitar should I get????

I currently have an Epiphone flying v, and I'm looking for a guitar that's a step up.....cuz I'm playing stuff like "Eruption" "Highway Star" and like some pretty hard-core soloing songs, and my Epiphone doesn't cut it anymore. So I'm looking for a good lead guitar under $500 (if possible, cuz I'm only 14) Thanx!!!!!!!!
