Blue screen of death caused by nvstor.sys?

im trying to copy files over to another hard drive and i keep getting the blue screen of death and when the screen comes up it says nystor.sys i read online that it has to do with NVidia, i downloaded a program and the windows install said there is no NAM so install will abort. how do i stop the bsod and also how do i copy the files over to my other hard drive?
