How can I improve this introduction?
In January of 1933, Adolf Hitler ceazed the position of chancellor in Germany following his captivity in prison and his rise to the political elite of the country. He formed the Nazi party, putting him in a position of authority which was the result of varying situations and Hitler’s cunning manipulation of them. Post WWI German was a nation of great political, social, and economic turmoil. The signing of the Treaty of Versailles by the winners of World War I left the country devastated economically due to reparations, socially due to article 231, the guilt clause, and politically due to the introduction of a new democracy into an unstable society who did not wish for its enactment. Hitler used the devastated nation to capitalize on his rise of power promising a new world era dominated by the German people. He created a sense of nationalism and a belief that he was a savior of his people. This caused the following years to be fraught with extremism and violence; and manipulation of the population to regain power in the international system. The three crises of 1923 are a clear example of the economic struggle, destruction and use of ideas that the country suffered from. Germany experienced a brief recession between 1924 and 1929 due to the initiation of the Dawes Plan by foreign minister Stresemann. This prosperity was extinguished quickly after the Wall Street Crash of 1929 and a great depression sunk over Germany. It was these cirstances along with Nazi Party’s tactics which gave Hitler the chance to gain power.
