Thinking of getting an overdraft?

Im a little wary of getting an overdraft from my bank, Natwest, Im just wondering if i get one and don not use it Eg: Use my own money without going into negative, then do i still get charged? Ive searched the whole Natwest site, their rates look quite reasonable so im just inquiring.
