Is he just trying to get some or actually want a relationship.?

So I've been talking to this guy Bob (not his real name) and we've been talking since late august and have been flirting a lot. I know his bff Joe (not his real name) and have a cl with him where we talk everyday, and Joe told me that Bob wants to date me and have a relationship, but wasn't sure if I wanted a relationship, so I told Joe that I did want a relationship, and he said I'll talk to Bob about it, and he'll ask you out, so I'm like ok. Cause right now me and Bob have had a thing for a month, he said he considers it a thing and said he was hoping eventually we'd go out. We have hung out before once at his house then we went to a movie (we made out), then at my house one night we watched movies (and made out), and then again yesturday he came over cause my parents weren't home and we watched a movie,(snuggled made out and he fingered me). But he hasn't asked me out yet, and me and his bff have talked about it week or two ago but Bob never asked me. So will he actually ask me out, or does he just want to make out and stuff? Cause I don't want to have a thing forever, cause things don't really mean anything except someone you get to do stuff with, and you can do stuff with other ppl cause its just a thing, but a relationship means that your exclusive, I want Bob to know this but I don't want to seem needy. But do you think he'll ask me out cause I don't want to wait for ever, or is he just using me to do stuff with, cause his friend says he reallys likes me. (btw he is a senior and I'm a junior if you were wondering) So plz give me feedback!!
